Join our campaign to save Nanaimo Chinatown's last buildings
We are a collective of Nanaimo residents, Chinese diasporic scholars, cultural workers, educators, and community researchers with roots in Nanaimo and China. We believe that Nanaimo’s Chinatown and the history of the early Chinese diaspora are important cultural and historical legacies that must be recognized today and conserved for future generations.
Our Purpose
To advocate for the recognition and protection of Nanaimo Chinatown and the historical sites, artifacts, and stories of the early Chinese diaspora.
To conserve the history and cultural heritage of Nanaimo’s Chinatown and early Chinese diaspora communities.
To educate the public about the history and culture of Nanaimo’s early Chinese diaspora.
